CTB experts share their knowledge with Saldus and Smiltenes technical schools teachers In October specialists from „Ceļu,tiltu būvnieks” Ltd. – most powerful road construction company in region of Kurzeme met with teachers from Saldus and Smiltenes technical schools to share knowledge and experience of road construction industry and its development in Latvia.
The meeting took place within the framework of the European Structural Fund’s “Effective Governance and Personnel Competency” project.
A broad team of experts referred to the call from the Latvian Road Builders and the “Traineeships” programs in Latvia.
During the day teachers met with head of administrative service Linda Grīna, director of production Kārlis Žāžis and „CTB Betons” Ltd. member of the board Andris Jaunciems to learn about company, visit laboratory and to explore asphalt and concrete plants.
Afterwards experienced project manager Zigmunds Peters continued to explore work management issues such as the management of the work of the facility, according to the developed project, the most common situations and errors encountered during construction and repairs, as well as the construction works carried out during the guarantee period.
At the end of the day educators under lead of technical director Zigmārs Treinovskis learned about modern work technologies of road construction machines and GPS system implementation in road construction. Afterwards Zigmunds Peters told about road construction and maintenance of machines and their rational use, but Kārlis Žāžis told about possibilities and application of 3D technology in road construction.
At the conclusion of the visit in group of companies, the teachers, along with the chief executive of the paving service Raivo Ozolins and project manager Zigmunds Peters, went to the current road construction sites to discuss the possibility of building a modern object.
The group of companies thanked the Latvian Road Builders Society for its initiative and are looking forward to the next time when company’s specialists can share knowledge and experience.
